About this tool
The Gold Price in Cambodia page shows gold prices per gram, per 5 grams, per tael and per troy ounce in Khmer riel and US dollars, across the main purity levels from 9K to 24K, together with a ten-day price trend table. The rates are fetched live from the goldnp.com international metals price feed, which publishes them per gram in both KHR and USD; when the USD figure for a purity line is missing, it is derived from the KHR price using the exchange rate shown on the feed page. It is a market reference for people following the gold price — investors comparing against their local gold shop, jewellery buyers checking the day’s level before visiting a shop, and researchers tracking movements. The price shown is an international quoted price expressed in riel, not a quote from any Phnom Penh or provincial gold shop counter; local shop prices include their own margins and premiums and will differ. The page does not buy or sell gold, does not price jewellery workmanship, and its ten-day history is the only trend data it offers.
How it works
The page calls the site’s metal-prices service, which fetches the gold price pages of goldnp.com in both KHR and USD, parses the HTML for every “price per gram” line by purity (9K, 10K, 12K, 14K, 18K, 22K, 23K, 24K), extracts the ten-day trend table, the USD/KHR rate shown on the page and the spot price per troy ounce, then merges the USD figures into the KHR rows. If the KHR page cannot be fetched, the service tries the node-compatible data fallback before returning an error state with a 502-style failure; when it succeeds, the page shows the rates, the trend table with the daily change percentage, the riel/USD currency toggle and the feed’s update timestamp. Prices are presented exactly as parsed from the feed — the page does not round or smooth them, and the only derived figure is the USD value filled in from the KHR price and the feed’s own rate when the USD parse misses a row.

- A family planning to sell old gold rings comparing the quoted rate with the international level
- A researcher recording daily international gold prices expressed in riel for a market study

Frequently asked questions
Is this the price a gold shop in Cambodia will pay or charge?
No. The page shows an international quoted price from goldnp.com expressed in riel. Cambodian gold shops set their own buy and sell prices by adding their margins, premiums and workmanship costs to the international level, so the counter price in Phnom Penh or a province will differ — sometimes by several percent. Treat this page as the international reference, and ask the shop for its actual quote.
Is this an official or government gold price?
No. The feed is goldnp.com, an independent metals-price website; the National Bank of Cambodia does not publish a domestic gold price, and there is no official gold-shop rate. The page states its source openly and shows the feed’s update time so you can judge how fresh the number is.
Why are there different prices for 9K, 18K and 24K?
Gold purity is measured in karats — 24K is about 99.9% pure gold, 22K about 91.6%, 18K about 75% and 9K about 37.5% — and the price per gram scales with the gold content. The page lists each purity level with its own per-gram price in KHR and USD, so you can compare like with like when checking a shop quote for a specific karat.
How current are the prices on this page?
The rates are fetched live each time the page loads, and the feed itself shows its last update timestamp, which the page displays next to the rates. The ten-day trend table is refreshed on the same fetch. If the feed is unreachable, the page shows a loading error rather than a stale number presented as fresh.
Why does the page show both riel and USD prices?
The feed publishes the gold price per gram in both currencies, and when a USD value is missing for a purity line the page derives it from the KHR price using the USD/KHR rate the feed displays. Cambodia uses both riel and dollars heavily, so showing both lets buyers and sellers compare against local quotes regardless of which currency the shop uses.
Does the trend table predict where the gold price is going?
No. The table lists the last ten days of prices with each day’s change percentage, purely as history. It is not a forecast, and past movement does not predict the next day’s level. Use it to see whether the price has recently risen or fallen, not to time a purchase with certainty.
Data and accuracy
Prices are scraped live from goldnp.com (gold price pages in KHR and USD) by the site’s metal-prices service: per-gram prices by karat, the ten-day trend table, the USD/KHR rate and the spot price per troy ounce are parsed from the feed HTML. This is an international quoted price expressed in riel — not a Phnom Penh gold-shop counter rate.
