Look up any phone number to see community spam reports, or submit your own to help others.

Report This Number

Help the community by reporting suspicious calls.

About this tool

The Phone Scam Checker lets people in Cambodia look up any Cambodian phone number and see whether the community has reported it as spam, scam, fraud, robocall, telemarketing or harassment. Enter a number in local or international format and the tool shows a risk level — safe, low, medium or high — derived from how many active reports exist, plus the individual reports with their types, descriptions and helpful-vote counts. It also accepts new reports: anyone can submit a report for a number, anonymously or with a name, and mark existing reports as helpful. It is a community information tool, not a carrier or official blacklist: reports are user-submitted and unverified, and a number with zero reports can still be dangerous. Use it to check unknown callers, warn others about scam numbers you received, and vote on reports you can confirm, while verifying important callers through official channels separately before sharing money or personal details with them.

How it works

A lookup returns the count of active reports for the exact number you entered (including country code) and maps that count to a risk level: zero reports is safe, 1–2 is low, 3–10 is medium, and more than 10 is high. The results list shows each active report’s type, title, description, reporter name (hidden for anonymous reports), helpful-vote count and date, most recent first. Submitting a report requires the number, its country code, a report type and a title; the description and reporter name are optional, and the report can be marked anonymous. Each browser can vote “helpful” on a report only once, using a device fingerprint. Submitted reports become active immediately and are counted in lookups right away; only active reports are shown, and a number with no active reports is shown as safe.

Use cases

  • A person checking an unknown number that called three times before they call back
  • A business owner verifying a number claiming to be a bank before sharing any details
  • A user who received a scam call submitting a report so others can see the number
  • A job applicant checking a recruiter’s number after a suspicious job offer
  • A family member checking a number that texted a fake delivery link
  • A voter checking a number that sent a message asking for payment during an election campaign

Frequently asked questions

  • Is a “Safe” result proof that a number is legitimate?

No. “Safe” simply means zero active community reports exist for that exact number. A scammer can use a brand-new number, a spoofed number, or one that was never reported, and it will still show safe. Treat safe as “no reports on file”, not as a guarantee, and verify important callers through official channels.

  • Is this an official or carrier blacklist?

No. The reports are submitted by visitors and are not verified findings, so the tool is not an official blacklist and does not represent legal determinations. Mobile carriers and the authorities maintain their own fraud channels; this tool only reflects what the community has reported here.

  • How is the risk level calculated?

Risk is based purely on the number of active reports: 0 reports is safe, 1–2 is low risk, 3–10 is medium risk, and 11 or more is high risk. It does not weigh report types, age or helpful votes in the level itself — the individual reports carry that detail. The most common report type is also shown separately.

  • Is my submitted report visible right away?

Yes. Reports you submit become active immediately and appear in lookups without a waiting period, because the database defaults new phone reports to the active state. There is no moderation queue in front of your submission, so please only report numbers you have actually received suspicious contact from.

  • What information do I need to submit a report?

A report needs the phone number, its country code, a report type (spam, scam, fraud, robocall, telemarketing, harassment or other) and a short title. The description and your name are optional, and you can choose to report anonymously, in which case no name is shown with the report.

  • Can I vote on reports?

Yes. Each report shows a “helpful” vote count and any visitor can vote once per report per browser. Votes help other readers gauge which reports other people found accurate, but they do not change the risk level of the number.

Data and accuracy

Community-submitted reports stored in the site’s own PostgreSQL database (phone reports table with a separate votes table). Lookups count only active reports; risk levels map the active count to safe / low / medium / high. Submissions are stored as active immediately (the database default for new phone reports), and helpful votes are limited to one per report per browser fingerprint.
